Moving...and something I want!

Here's what my daily schedule entails:

Rise
Drive
Work
Eat
Work
Drive
Pack
Shower
Pass out

I gotta out of my current place by the 17th, so that's what?...5 more days? So yea, if I'm not working I'm probably packing and moving some crap over to the new apartment. The process is slow and gradual, but I better kick it into high gear today.

Went and saw Rush Hour 3 last night with the significant other and some buddies. I enjoyed it. Note to self... the MAN is always behind every criminal organization. The theater was god-forsakenly cold last night though. Good thing I had jeans on but my buddies were wearing short and flip-flops and their toes were numb afterwards.

Anywhoo...now to something that I want. A couple weeks ago I sold my little Sony laptop for ~$1000 that I purchased for $401. Pretty good huh? Now I'm in need of a laptop and I have my eyes set on the new Dell XPS M1330. Looks like my best bet would be buying through my OSU's premier site which comes with a bit of a discount. I wish Costco would get it in stock sometime so that I can purchase from them and have their excellent return policy in play.

Walgreens Day 2 - I salute you Major A-Hole!

So, I made it through the first year and now I'm officially an intern. Just got my license in the mail yesterday. Already put in 19 hours our two days at the 24-hour Walgreens I am working at in Salem. This store is crazy busy, but constantly having something to do makes the day go by really fast. The training modules I have to complete as part of training though is pretty lame. To do that, I have to sit/stand at the back of the pharmacy watching videos from who knows what year and answering questions about the content.

Let the fun begin

I gotta tell ya though, there are some big assholes in this world and I think the majority of them can be found in the military. Some cocky, "high ranking" son-of-a-bitch comes into our store this morning around 9am trying to get a refill on his medications; one of which being...VICODIN! But anyways, the senior tech at the store is trying to help him out and finds out that the insurance won't cover it because he's refilling too soon (can you say FIEND?). When he is informed of this, he tries to pull rank on her and explain how he's some top dog and needs his drugs and threatened to sue if we didn't get the meds too him.

He decided to sit around and hassle the pharmacist and techs every once in a while, while he sat in the waiting area and probably talked smack about us to other patients. We tried our best to contact his doctor to see if he could authorize some VICODIN for him, but the pharmacist was put on hold forever probably because the asshole was calling the doctor's office on his cell non-stop and badgering them too. Around noon, he comes back to the window and says he going to come back Monday with the military police with him....pssssh....wtf the can they do about this? They would probably put him away. So we think that he's gone. WRONG. He comes back again later and demands his meds again. Boy, this went on for a good 5 hours.

He is lucky that my preceptor wasn't there or else he would have been ripped a new one cause he doesn't stand for that kinda shit. Besides, there is no law that forces a pharmacist to dispense to everyone. I really wonder why he didn't just try to go somewhere else if we "weren't doing our jobs."

My feet are fucking killing me!

Good News

I finally picked up a Wii today at Costco when I was getting my tires rotated and balanced. Woot!

score....!?!?!

Today was our third soccer match, it feels our team is playing a lot better. But we were missing a lot of people today because of Mom's Weekend (blah).

Guess what? I scored a goal....but to my demise, in the wrong goal. Crap. I tried to pass back to goalie because an offender was coming, but I guess I kicked it pass him or right between his hands? Oh well, at least it wasn't like a game deciding goal or anything because our final score was like 1-5 or 1-6.

Well, back to studying for BB....fawk!

buying car = headache

The process of researching and trying to find a used-car to purchase is such a pain in the ass. For the past few weeks my girlfriend and I have been stuck in this ordeal to find something for her before she needs to start school in Las Vegas. We figure it would be better for her to purchase a car here where taxes are lower and we can avoid having to go to dealers in the Las Vegas heat.

But even shopping for cars online can be more stressful than cramming for a midterm. The options are numerous yet limited because money doesn't grow on trees. Right now we have come down to looking at PT Cruisers, which I don't think are that attractive, but the reviews are decent and my gf seems to like it a lot.

Also, being in Corvallis sucks because all the dealers and private sellers are somewhere in Portland-Metro area. Planning to drive up this Thursday to check out some cars. If you have some experience purchasing used cars, want to come tag along? I'll get you lunch or dinner!

Scavenging, Beer, Poker, and Soccer

The title pretty much sums up my weekend.

Yesterday, we had our first ever P1 scavenger hunt and BBQ. We started at 2:ooPM and had two hours to collect everything on the list. Besides getting kicked out of Freddies,' the highlight of the hunt was my teammate dunking his head into the Willamette River right next to one of the overflow pipes. Yea...I hope he doesn't get attacked by flesh-eating bacteria or grow a third eye. We also proposed to the pretty barista as DB, and got free carmelized lemon slices at McMenamin's.

After the hunt, the BBQ over at one of our classmate's houses was a blast. We had tons of good food and booze to go along with it. I feel bad that I didn't bring any beer. I should being over a case next time to make up for it. But I took my first beer bong hit last night. Good times! You don't even realize you are drinking it down so fast. It just rushes down your throat in like 2 seconds. Good times X2!

Then off to poker at my buddie's place. Didn't realize he lived so close. I decided to drive thinking it would be too cold to walk home later. I pulled out of my lot, went down a block, turned a corner, and I was there. Good job burning gas....
The turn out was good. We had eight players, $5 buy-in. I made it pretty far. Got to last three, but made a big mistake by not going in with my Ace-2. 4-5 came out on the river. Opponent bet 3X the blind and I got scared so I folded. Went finishing afterwards and found the the 3 on the river. Damn.

Played soccer today with our P1 co-ed team today. It was my first time out on the field and serious, soccer tires the crap out of you. Felt bad for the girls because we only had three so they had to play the whole game. The guys were subbing like every 5 minutes. Next time I should bring my inhaler. Off to find food. I'm starving.

Don't fall asleep at the library

Beware! Don't fall asleep at the library. (BTW, don't know how I fell asleep in the position. I was tired as shit!)

The "friendly ghost" will TRY to get ya. Nice try guys! Make sure you don't try to change homepages on someone that KNOWS about counter-measures. It's on! Be afraid, be very afraid.

2 down, 4 more to go

With the two easier finals out of the way, here come the bigger guns.

I have already given up hope in Practice and will settle with the B. Just going to concentrate on Pharmaceutics and Law because its still possible to get an A in those classes with minimal studying. Work smarter, not harder.

They say, "save the best for last." In my case, the worst has been reserved for the last spot. Going to finish up finals week with a cumulative biochem final with an irrate professor writing almost half of the exam.

Blah!

NDSA

Hi, and welcome Ninendo DS-aholics Anonymous!

Thanks to my recent mod-chip, I've been spending way too much time with my DS than I should be. One more day before finals begin and I still haven't started studying yet. *sigh*

This term is almost over, spring break here I come!

hibernation + torrenting = coma

It's been a while since my computer has given me and problems. Usually I'm on the other end fixing people's problems.

Today, my computer was down and out for the count most of the afternoon. I think it was due to my recent change in power settings to make the computer go into hibernation when not in use for an hour. Usually, I just leave it on all night long, but decided that I wanted to try and conserve some power, because Energy Star says so. It may have also been due to torrenting which takes a huge toll on your hard drive. Hope you enjoy those ROMs Kevin (I know I am).

After opening it up, vacuuming, and checking cable connections, it's finally orking again. Yay!

Back to studying...maybe.

Class of 2010

Don't we all look smug in our white coats!?

the world is yours

I am very ashamed to have to admit this, but I have not watched Scarface before.

Well, at least until last night anyhow.

I purchased the DVD Collector's Edition of Scarface roughly 2 years ago, but it hasn't been opened and watched until last night. Sure, I've watched clips and heard the quotes, but have never fully enjoyed the movie in all its glory. Underneath all the blood, coke and violence, is a character that I think we can all relate to, but don't have the balls to be. Also, the last scene had the biggest coke hit I have ever seen anyone take in any movie.

Tony Montana is the man.

Rules to live by:
1. Never underestimate the OTHER man's greed.
2. Don't get high on you OWN supply.

I think rule number 2 is a good one for pharmacists to observe if you want to stay on top of your game and out of trouble.

300 was the shit, being sick is shitty

Watched 300 last night with some friends and I have to say that it's one of the best movies that I have watched in a long time. I'm already a big fan of Greek history and mythology and this movie really did it for me. The fight scenes were insane! They were bloody as hell, but not full of gore. My gf enjoyed it, must have been okay.

The Persians in the movie were hella weird though. I have no idea where they got some of the dudes they were fighting with. The executioner that they had seemed like the Butcher from Diablo II, but had blades welded into his arms. That's pretty hardcore. The freaking war elephants that they brought were hilarious and stupid. They could have easily just did a side sweep and kicked the Spartans off the cliff, but they were too scared to get hurt by a few spears. They deserved to fall off the cliff like they did.

After watching that, I wanted to watch my overdue rentals so I could try and rush them back in the AM to see if I could avoid the late fee. Unfortunately I just passed out and woke up around noon with the gnarliest headache this year. I got up and tried to go watch those DVDs, but man, this one took me back out. I think it was a combo of sinus HA, tension HA, malaise (muscle pain), and somnolence (aka...feeling SHITTY).

I took some Tylenol and that got me through one of the DVDs. Had some bowl ramen to give me some energy. After the movie, shittiness crept back in and I this time I popped some Tylenol Cold and Flu which has some dextrometorphan and phenylephrine also and passed out for another 3 hours or so. That seemed to do the trick. Feeling better now.

Gonna eat some sam-gep-sal now. Hurray! :)

procrastination, a chronic disease

This is very well be way past most people's bedtime, but here I am again awake and studying. Why?

I probably have insomnia, but the worst disease of all is procrastination. I could snuggled up in bed right now (or out getting tanked), but I've waited until the last minute to study for my videotaped counseling and biochem quiz tomorrow and also finish editing my law paper to turn in.

I should really get my studying done sooner so that I can actually retain information and not just cram and purge like all of my undergraduate days. Bleh, its late, I'll do it later.

SIDENOTE: I got my foodstamps today and already spent over half of it! It's good to finally have food to eat! Me Zorg, me hungry!

interesting people at the library

I'm in the back of the computer lab of the library right now protoctoring a student exam and I must say there are some interesting people here. By interesting, I mean quite bizarre.

Sitting in the cubicle adjacent to mine is a couple that I've seen here before playing some not-so-fun-looking 2-D RPG game. I don't really understand why people play these games because the graphics are all shitty and all you do is run around "mining mithril" and selling shit. The guy looks quite disheveled, in need of a shower, and a homegrown hair cut, however he seems the better of the two.

The girl is the one that is getting on my nerves. She sitting next to him (with her ass towards me), all clingy-like, without her shoes on (socks are a dirty yellow). It seems that I am not the only one annoyed by her because even her boyfriend is trying to make her leave by recommending that she find another computer to play on because he likes to "chat with her in the game." Here's a direct quote, "But I don't want to play, I want to cuddle with you!" Not only that, she belches like a beast and farted twice in my direction like it was just another day at work. Also, their excessive kissing makes me want to tell them to get a damn room.

Speaking of work...why aren't these people working so they can buy their own shitty computer and play their own shitty games at home so that they don't come here and annoy the shit out of me everytime I have to proctor. If they have this much free time to play some shitty game, why not put some of that effort to good use and dig some ditches or something.

Another hour and I'm outta here...

I could really use some Fukitol right now.

Don't do stupid shit on your bike in the rain

The first time I ate it hard on my new bike. Boredom got the best of me on my bike ride to biochem Wednesday morning and started doing stupid things on my bike. Before I knew it, I was on the cement. Good thing there weren't too many witnesses around (I hope). Only came out with a a few scrapes on my left leg, a hole through my jeans covering my bloody right knee, and a slight blow to my pride. Also, I must give props to the gloves I was wearing or else the skin on my palms would have been ripped up!

Side note: Happy that Hagen is back. Screw you Beckman!

Best Drug, Ever

So, I'm supposed to be prepping for my videotaped Rx drug counseling session on Friday... yea, anyways...

I just discovered the best drug ever. I think if I offer these up in the summer while I start interning, all of life's problems will be solved.

Why can't I T-Spin?

So for the past few weeks my Tetris addiction has been getting worse. It all started when I experienced the joy of Tetris all over again losing something like 20-1 against Kevin. Dammit. Those new items in Tetris DS tripped me up, but I quickly regained my composure and starting kickin' some ass.

We have been getting bored of playing the normal way of just building up solid blocks, waiting for the star, and dropping back-to-back I-bombs until the other person(s) getschoked out.

Rumor of a T-spin came to us and today, we discovered a video on youtube that showed us how to do it. However, its hard to rewire our brain to build the way that "t-spinners" do. I want to do one of these so bad! Why can't I T-Spin?
